Lack of support from the university when they first arrive in the UK

There is no formal service .e.g. customer service, information and advice or reception for international students by the international office

Support that International student need.

• Help with registering with a GP
• Opening a bank account- banks only provide a basic deposit and withdrawal service for students
• Accommodation
• To open a bank account International students need references but being new to the UK it is very difficult or impossible students to get one
• Acceptance of references from certain students are based on their nationality; a form of discrimination
• The international student's office's location is not accessible to students. This office located in the university's main administrative building (Techno Park) which can only be accessed by members of staff.
