INTRODUCTION
Jiu Jitsu is an ancient Japanese martial art that uses strikes, locks and throws to provide practical self-defence against both unarmed and armed attackers. Jiu Jitsu teaches you to overcome aggressors by turning their energy to your advantage. This means that it can be effective irrespective of the defenders own strength, weight or gender.
Our style of Jiu Jitsu is called simply Jitsu. Training is tailored to individual ability so you do not need to be very fit to start, although you’ll find that endurance, strength, flexibility and speed are all improved during training.
Jitsu is taught in a friendly atmosphere that continues beyond the dojo. Being an extremely social club, everybody is invited to regular and sometimes intense pub sessions and end-of-term meals. You will also be able to take part in many courses and competitions where you will get to know Jitsuka from around London (there are 14 other clubs in our region) and from all over the country.
